Hahns Peak Wild Flower Loop
Date- September 29th
Location- Hahn’s Peak Village
Directions- Hwy 40 West of Steamboat, turn right on 129 at 7/11, North on 129 for 25 miles. Start in Hahn’s Peak Village. Parking on 2nd ave and Cottonwood street adjacent start –finish.
This event will benefit the North Routt Charter School Nordic Ski Program. It is permitted and produced through the Steamboat Lake Snow Club. The same organization that hosts the Glide the Divide, America’s Toughest Ski Race.
Entry $25 for adults, kids under 18 pay their age. [10yr old=$10]
Start time 10:00am for kids 1 mile race
10:30 am for 15 miler and 5 miler
Course- 15miler- Start Main Street 1/2mile to fs410 left, climb 4miles to first feed station. Fs418A to fs413 climb to Farwell saddle[ second feed station] Descend on Ellis trail #1155 to Beaver Basin, Follow Fs409 back to Main Street, finish at Start area. Total climbing 2400 feet. Distance 15 miles. Course will be marked with fluorescent green arrows.
Feed stations at 5 miles and 10 miles will have water and Herbalife 24 hydrate, cookies and fruit.
Course for 5 miler- Start on Main Street, ½ mile to FS410 climb 2 miles to fs410-2b, continue climb to fs411 descend on 411 to fs409, right on 409 return to Hahn’s peak village finish on Main Street. Course will be marked with purple arrows.
Kid’s race course- Start on Main Street- run to the intersection with FS410 turn around and run back to Start.
parking available at Hahns Peak Roadhouse (formally SLO) with a shuttle to the start.
